Kata

Kata is a story-driven adventure platformer centered around Filipino culture and arts, featuring heartwarming characters, breathtaking environments, and traditional music in a cozy journey of determination and companionship!

The game page is currently on Steam for PC platforms

My work as Lead Developer for this project include:

  • Creation and management of the game's core systems and tools

  • Implementation of Player and NPC controls, actions, and behaviors

  • Prototyping and final implementation of some of the game's minigames

  • Worked closely with the artists in the implementation of the various art and animation assets such as the characters, UI, areas, and objects among other things

  • Worked with the sound engineer in the implementation of the game's various Music and SFX

  • Input management for switching between Keyboard and Gamepad controls

  • Creation and iteration of the main gameplay loop such as the platforming, exploration, dialogue system, and objective tracking

  • Worked with the other developers in the game's optimization

  • Working with the entire team on designing the various game features

Trash Teammates

Trash Teammates is an upcoming 2D Puzzle Platformer Party Game where you and your friends play as discarded toys climbing up the garbage chute on your way to freedom.

The game is currently on Steam for PC Platforms

My work as Lead Developer for this project include:

  • Creation and management of the game's core systems and tools

  • Implementation of game controls

  • Work on the game's physics system and interactions with the player and other objects such as trash and hazards.

  • Assistance in Local Multiplayer and ongoing Online Multiplayer functionality

  • Worked closely with the artists in the implementation of the various art and animation assets such as the characters, UI, areas, and objects among other things

  • Worked with the sound engineer in the implementation of the game's various Music and SFX

  • Input management for switching between Keyboard and Gamepad controls

  • Creation and iteration of the main gameplay loop such as the platforming, trash / floor generation and player interactions

  • Worked with the other developers in the game's optimization

  • Working with the entire team on designing the various game features

Battle Spins

Battle Spins is a casual social slot machine mobile game that allows players to build their town while attacking and raiding other players.

The game is currently released on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store

​

My work as Software Engineer for this project include:

  • Maintaining and optimizing the game for a smoother gameplay experience

  • Implementation of any additional features in the game

  • Working with the artists in the implementation and management of the various art and animation assets such

  • Work with the backend engineer with the manipulation of player and game data that's stored on an online database

  • Interaction with the 3rd party services used such as Firebase

  • Working with the team to give feedback and design suggestions regarding the development of the game

Side Projects

Peck and Call

Peck and Call is a 2D Isometric Puzzle game with music that centers around a golem its phoenix companion. The golem can play a set of notes where the phoenix will perform an action based on the played note.

The game prototype is currently on itch.io and my team's submission for the Coding Blocks 2022 Game Jam​

My work as Programmer for this project include:

  • Creation and management of the game's core systems and tools

  • Implementation of Player controls, actions, and behaviors

  • Implementation of the Phoenix's main actions which are listening to the notes, following the player, moving in a certain direction, and repeating the player's notes

  • Worked closely with the artists in the implementation of the various art and animation assets such as the characters, areas, and objects among other things

  • Worked with the sound engineer in the implementation of the game's various Music and SFX

  • Creation and iteration of the main gameplay loop such as the platforming, exploration, dialogue system, and objective tracking

  • Working with the entire team on designing the game prototype

Deep Frequency

Deep Frequency is a 2D Pixel Horror game centered around a diver who has braved the deep abyss of the ocean and its dangers in search of someone.

The game prototype is currently on itch.io and my team's submission for the Brackeys Game Jam 2022

My work as Lead Programmer for this project include:

  • Creation and management of the game's core systems and tools

  • Managing the other programmers and helping them with tasks by offering suggestions and direction

  • Working with the artists in the implementation and management of the various art and animation assets such

  • Worked with the sound engineer in the implementation of the game's various Music, SFX, and spatial sounds

  • Creation of the management and behavior of the game's main enemies the Abyss Horrors which include approaching the player from out of the flashlight's view, spawning different types of horrors and their effect on the player

  • Worked with the other developers in setting up the functionality of the UI such as the HUD and the dialogue boxes

  • Working with the entire team on designing the game prototype
